Eden Cloakroom

On Saturday the girls and I were driving around killing time before we went to watch the rugby, and we were at a bit of a loss for what to do. Our journey eventually took us to Mt Eden (ok, so not exactly a big journey) where we remembered there was a cute bar at the end of the strip.

Eden Cloakroom is nicely styled with hanging vines, huge red light fittings and quirky touches throughout. It kind of reminded me of Citizen Park, with foldout paper menus, and similar food on offer. However, I'm not sure who came first, chicken or egg?

We ordered the Buffalo wings with blue cheese sauce, the chips with chipotle aioli and the smoky mushroom and proscuitto pizza to share. Buffalo wings are usually an absolute favourite of mine but sadly these ones lacked the crispiness and that spicy buttery decadence that made them world famous. However, Buffalo wings and my incessantly high expectations aside, the rest of the food was great.

I would definitely head back to Eden Cloakroom, but perhaps not with food front of mind. It's a really cute little bar in picturesque Mt Eden that was perfect for an afternoon drink with friends.

After finishing up at Eden Cloakroom we made our way to watch the boys play play rugby, albeit slightly late after some navigational issues (my fault).

There ended up being quite a few of us (including little Humphrey) who spent the afternoon cheering (and barking) on the boys to win their semi-final. Woohoo!
